I had to do the typical morning commute today. On an extra grey morning. In the cold rain.
You’d almost think that such weather would chill people out. Make them drive a little more slowly. Make them a little more respectful of their fellow driver.
Ha. What a laugh. If you think that, you don’t know what it’s like to drive between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. in St John’s.
It’s absolutely insane here, and I swear it’s getting worse. The weird part…we don’t even have a crazy-big population! It’s not the numbers that are the problem. It’s the assholes.
If you are trying to be a reasonable driver in the morning, obeying the rules of the road and just aiming to get from point A to point B on time, I can pretty much guarantee you that the absolutely insane, batshit crazy drivers in this down will drive you nuts. 🤯
I was mercilessly tailgated. I was aggressively cut off. I watched a douchebag speed through a school zone at like, 8:15AM. At one point, there was a woman behind me so desperate to turn right that she was aggressively close to the rear of my car and inventing her own lane. (For what; to save an inch? Or to gain a split-second?) Or, how about later, when I tried to make a right turn, and there was someone traveling behind me and they were so close/aggressive that it was just plain scary to try to turn?
It’s plain luck there aren’t more accidents and fatalities.
Self-driving cars cannot come quickly enough. 🚗
